Maintenance of the GERSTEL Septumless Head (SLH):
The GERSTEL Septumless Head (SLH) is the unique interface used with the GERSTEL Cooled Injection System, CIS 4. The SLH prevents incorrect analysis results that arise due to septum bleeding or septum particles. The figure below shows the idle and injection states of the SLH. A sealing body located inside the SLH seals the inlet from above. Regular maintenance ensures trouble free operation such as a leak that may be detected at the top of the inlet. Should this occur, maintenance consists of disassembling the SLH and cleaning the Kalrez O-ring and other parts of the SLH.
