Episode 1: A Talk with Mark Jordi from Jordi Labs 63 analytical techniques to Choose From
Show Notes
A conversation with Mark about the wide range of analytical possibilities, and the 63 different analytical methods he can use to address issues with his clients.
Jordi Labs was founded in 1980 for the distinct purpose of providing the highest quality analytical services, polymer based HPLC columns and packing media in the industry. When Dr. Howard Jordi initially started Jordi Labs, he was mainly providing Gel Permeation Chromatography (GPC) services to his clients. Over time, he added several complementary techniques as the needs of his clients grew, including High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA), Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). While providing liquid chromatography services to his clients, Dr. Jordi had the opportunity to use many stationary phases. Through this experience, he realized that many of the chromatography columns on the market fell short of his expectations. These columns had short life spans and many didn’t provide the separations required for his clients’ applications. From this, Dr. Jordi set out to create his own line of columns which would be more robust and could provide the separations specifically geared towards customer needs. Over a number of years, Dr. Jordi developed a full column line based on 100% divinylbenzene.
Over the years, Jordi Labs has grown into a full analytical service lab, offering various forms of liquid and gas chromatography, mass spectroscopy, thermal analyses, microscopy, elemental and physical testing. No matter the technique, Jordi Labs has always focused on providing a solution to our clients’ problem. Jordi Labs has evolved from initially providing GPC services, to a premier analytical services lab for regulatory, investigative and quality control analyses.
