Abstract
Solid phase extraction of biological samples before LC-MS/MS analysis minimizes matrix interference. Psilocin analytes isolated from either serum or hydrolyzed urine samples using the automated cleanup procedure were introduced into an Agilent Technologies 1260 HPLC coupled with an Agilent Ultivo Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer with a Jet stream electrospray source. As a result of this study, we were able to show that hallucinogenic compounds in serum and urine samples can be successfully hydrolyzed, if required, extracted using an automated SPE procedure, and determined using the Agilent Ultivo Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer and that this method was readily automated using the LCTech FREESTYLE SPE* combined with a GERSTEL MultiPurpose Sampler MPS robotic.
