GERSTEL ® Thermal Desorption Systems provide unmatched performance for a wide range of applications. The TDS offers more capabilities for introducing samples into GC instruments than any other system and provides unparalleled versatility, ease of use, and lowest detection limits to the analytical laboratory. Unlike most thermal desorption systems on the market that are designed specifically for VOCs in air, the GERSTEL TDS allows you to determine a wide range of compounds, from very volatile to high boilers (C44). Method development is easy due to GERSTEL's unique use of a cooled inlet as a cold trap and full EPC pneumatic control. New applications require only changing trap temperature and flow rates. With the TDS autosampler a different set of parameters can be run on a set of 20 tubes, allowing you to optimize a method overnight. Other systems must use adsorbent traps that are specific for certain methods or compounds. If a new application is needed, tedious adsorbent trap optimization is required. These systems also require higher flows and split ratios to get compounds off the trap. The GERSTEL TDS allows true "splitless" sample transfer to the GC column, so detection limits are the lowest available. The GERSTEL TDS has a completely inert flow path with no valves, sample tube caps, ball and spring seals or multiple connections to adsorb sample. This also has the advantage of easy cleaning if the TDS is overloaded. Other systems with valves and adsorbent traps are difficult if not impossible to clean when overloaded and in many cases need the entire sampling path replaced. GERSTEL ® is the leading Premier Solution Partner of Agilent Technologies world-wide. We provide complete solutions for your analytical needs with fully integrated software control from the Agilent ChemStation. Just one integrated method and one standard sequence list operates the complete system thereby reducing the risk of errors and increasing productivity.
